For more than 30 years, NYS and UUP have worked together through the Joint Labor-Management Committees to build a series of successful partnerships within public higher education.

The New York State/United University Professions Joint Labor-Management Committees (JLMC) address mutually identified issues affecting the quality and productivity of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

SPOTLIGHT ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/LEADERSHIP

The New York State/United University Professions Executive Labor-Management Committees is pleased to announce training opportunities to further promote professional development for UUP represented employees which include a new professional development grant program and several courses being offered on a pilot basis SUNY system-wide.

NEW Professional Development Grant Program

The Professional Development Grant Program is intended to fund a professional development project or activity to assist three or more employees to develop their professional potential and to prepare for advancement. Eligibility is similar to the Individual Development Awards Programs. Awards may not exceed $2,500 per employee and a total of $15,000 per application. A 40% campus contribution is required for this Program. Additional information, eligibility requirements and the application process is provided under the Professional Development Committee.

SUNY System-Wide Pilot Training

The intent is to initially offer several courses on a pilot basis SUNY System-Wide. • Navigating Transitions in the Workplace – A Guide for Supervisors and Managers
  • Essentials of Supervision: Gauging Your Supervisory Skills
  • Respectful Communications in the Workplace
